Logo Redesign: Money Tree Billing

Background

The Money Tree Logo I redesigned during my employment at One Wheel Marketing. We had worked with the client previously on some smaller needs but the time had come for them for some major updates to their brand. We redesigned their website and as a part of that build also redesigned their logo.

The Client’s logo was in major need of redesign due to it feeling outdated and cheap. Their company had started out small and it may have even been the founders who had designed it themselves when they started their company. Now that their company was growing they were already making a few changes to their company brand. We took advantage of this rebranding to update their logo as well.

My approach to the redesign

In redesigning their logo I needed to address some of the major problems of their old logo:

  1. Font did not match their new brand

  2. Text overlapped icon in a way that created loss of contrast and felt messy

  3. There were too many colors: green gradient, brown, and black

I wanted to address these issues, but because this was a redesign I still wanted the logo to feel similar to the old logo. Like the logo had been upgraded and not a completely new company.

I simplified the colors down to a single green that matched their brand, made the text distinct from the icon, and made the icon feel more identifiable and less like clip art.
